SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Tonight’s USD baseball game at Santa Clara has been postponed and will be resumed Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Game two of the series will begin approximately 30 minutes after the conclusion of game one.

Tonight’s game began at 6:00 p.m. as scheduled and Jeff Houghtby led off the game with a double down the left field line. Colton Waltner then struck out to bring up Hunter Mercado-Hood, who worked a 3-1 count.

After the skies opened up, a rain delay was called by the umpire crew, just ten pitches in to the game. Ultimately it was decided to postpone the game.
